Pharmaceutical Corp., a locally owned drugmaker based in Caguas, has signed a six-month option with U.S. drugmaker Eli Lilly & Co. to buy Lilly's cephalosporin manufacturing plant in Carolina. The plant, one of three in Lilly's Carolina complex, is scheduled to be shut down, because Lilly is transferring the antibiotic line to Italy.
